|
Osmanlı minyatür sanatının yaşayan son temsilcisi.
30 yılını verdiği minyatürle modern resmi sentezleyerek bir çığır açtı.
Paris'te, Tokyo'da, Almanya'da, New York'ta açtığı sergileriyle, performanslarıyla, uluslararası ün kazandı.
Eserleri, 5 - 30 bin euro arasında alıcı bulan Kato, 'cebi dolu herkese' resim satmamasıyla da ünlü. Sergilerinde resim satmayan, atölyesine gelip "Bu kaça?" diye soranları kibarca kovan Kato'nun zenginlik tanımı: 'Ruj ve cep faturasını' ödeyecek kadar para kazanmak yeterli diyor.
